What we make

Small, and genuinely useful. Apps and hardware we build and run ourselves.

[English listening]

Yaha!

Fast, native English, straight to your ears.

A real-world English listening trainer that uses native audio from YouTube as its material. You can follow textbook English, but movies and videos suddenly lose you. We built Yaha! to close that gap.

  • Hear the real thing: listen to living English from native YouTube audio
  • Learn it by rhythm: shadowing and prosody visualisation help you feel the rhythm of English
  • Make it stick: quizzes and daily tasks build up the feeling of “I caught that”

[Accent guessing game]

Twang

Where did that English grow up?

Record yourself saying English phrases that break differently in every accent, then guess where other people's mouths grew up. Play for a while and you'll start telling the world's English accents apart.

  • Record your voice: read phrases that bring out accent differences
  • Guess the origin: listen to other players and work out where they grew up
  • Hear the range: the same phrase, so different from place to place
